How do I achieve the star ratings?

The star ratings are generated based on how a user rates you for your service after the transaction. Customer satisfaction is the key here. Your response time, tone of emails/messages, problem solving abilities etc will all have an impact on how the user rates you.

How many stars do I start with?

If you are a qualified expert in your chosen specialization/field, and are able to provide an attested copy of your professional certification, you will also be given a default 3 star rating to start your journey with WhizzTips.

What documents are required to be approved as a Whizz?

The more the better. WhizzTips needs to validate your credentials to be sure you are the right person for the job when a user posts one. If you are company, a trade license copy, Registration of Trade certificate, Incorporation certificates etc that clearly states your area of expertise would be sufficient.

How long would it take to be approved as a Whizz?

Once all the documents are submitted, your application generally gets approved in 48 hours.

Can I negotiate the rates for the service with the user?

Yes, you can use the messaging service to understand the Scope of Work (SoW), before arriving at the price at which you can offer your services.

Are there any charges I would pay for using the service?

The registration and bidding for jobs are all free. However, a standard service charge of the rate you agree with a user will be retained by WhizzTips. The Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) that you sign as a “Whizz” covers the contract clauses.

What benefits do I get as a Whizz for the service fee that WhizzTips takes?

The service fee helps us to operate the platform effectively, make further enhancements, grow our community of users who need you and promote our ‘Star Whizzes’ through Social Media Marketing. We also pay the bank charges and credit card charges for transfer of funds to you. All of WhizzTips’ operational costs are covered using these funds. And besides, we have to feed our kids too, right?

What background checks do WhizzTips perform on my registration?

WhizzTips will verify your details with screening services for criminal offences and other fines that may pose any risks to the users of the platform. Please read our Terms & Conditions as well as our Privacy Policy documents on our webpage very carefully before registering as a Whizz. We want to maintain the highest level of safety for both you and the users of our platform.

How can I make myself available for all opportunities when a user posts a service request on WhizzTips?

WhizzTips uses a location based scanning when a user posts a service request. The default range is a 10 miles radius. If you are within this range, you will get notified. If they do not find anyone within range, the users can search based on the distance & ratings and everyone who meets the criteria will be listed for them to choose from. This said, the best way for you to be chosen is when you get a 4 star rating and undertake at least 50 jobs through WhizzTips. This makes you a ‘Star Whizz’ and attracts users to you.

We are a company, and we have multiple services under our business structure. WhizzTips allows only one category per Whizz. Do I have to create a duplicate profile for my company?

Yes. If this falls in 2 different ‘Categories’. we recommend that you create two profiles, under separate contact people who represent separate divisions of your company. If the ‘Sub Categories’ are under the same ‘Category’ in WhizzTips, then there is no need for a separate registration.

How do I get paid for a job I’ve completed in WhizzTips?

We make a bank transfer to you once you’ve successfully completed a job. This is done when you click on ‘Mark as Complete’ in the WhizzTips app. Please ensure this is done only when you have indeed completed the job to the user’s satisfaction. Otherwise, the user may raise a ‘Dispute’ and it will take longer for you to receive your money. Once the user also clicks on ‘Mark as Complete’, the job is successfully closed in our systems, and you will be paid in the next payment cycle, that generally falls on a Monday, and the money should be in your account within 3 working days.

I have completed a job to the best of my abilities. However, the user wasn’t satisfied and he’s raised a dispute. What do I do?

There will always be a difference in expectations between two parties, as is the case in any product or services you buy. If you are indeed skilled in your field, then the chances of such occurrences will be minimum. Also ensure you clarify all the questions through the app, and not on external mediums like emails or on the phone. In case a dispute is raised by either party, the only method we use to make a fair judgement is the in-app messaging system. So, all photographs, videos and text should only be exchanged through WhizzTips for you to be given a fair judgment.

How can I promote my Services on WhizzTips?

On your app, there is a segment called ‘Promotions’, which you can use to run time bound promotions. You can either run a fixed value promotion or a percentage based campaign. Once created, the campaign will appear on the user’s app under the category you have selected, and they can make their choice and avail the offer.

If I run a promotion for a week, and someone uses the discount, how is my net payable amount calculated?

WhizzTips will calculate the service fee from the accepted value of the deal prior to applying the discount. You ‘Net Payable’ amount is shown in your mobile screen before you finally accept the deal from the user. If you need to change the bid value, you could do it in the same screen before it goes to the user. Once you send your bid, it’s with the user and he will have to make a decision whether to hire you at that price or not.

I’m unable to deactivate my account with WhizzTips. It says I have pending jobs in the system. How do I close these off?

If you have raised any disputes or if a user has raised one against you, we’ll have to conclude the dispute and close off the transactions in the system. Only then will you be able to deactivate your account. This is done so we can communicate with both parties before making a fair judgement.

I’m unable to receive any alerts on my phone when jobs are posted. Looks like I’m missing all opportunities to undertake the jobs. Am I doing something wrong?

When you install the app on your mobile, please ensure are allowing the location services and push notifications on the app. If you haven’t done this, you could also go to settings in WhizzTips and check the ‘Push notifications’ and ‘Email notifications’ as well as check the location services in your phone’s settings and allow access to WhizzTips. You should now get every notifications that will help you get those jobs you were missing.

It is Wednesday and I have not yet received payment, what must I do?

Don’t stress! Payments are made on Mondays, and usually only reflects in your account on Thursday evenings. If it still does not reflect by then, please ensure that your bank details are correct.

All weekly summaries are sent to Whizzes on their registered email addresses. Please contact support@whizztips.com to get your weekly summary sent to you.

There are deductions off my account, and I don’t understand why?

There is probably a very simple explanation for this. It was probably a disputed deal which was probably paid in full to you when you completed that task owing to the weekly payment schedule. It was not corrected in time with the previous payment. This would then reflect on this week statement.

How do I get paid by direct deposit?

When you create your Whizz account, we ask you to add bank account info so that you can receive direct deposits from WhizzTips. A direct deposit is an electronic transfer of payment into your bank account.

I’m unable to find any Whizzes for the services I needed help on. Am I doing something wrong?

If you select “Whizz Travels to me”, then there needs to be at least someone within an acceptable radius of your location who has registered as a Whizz. Generally, the default radius is 10 miles for in-house service.

How does the Service requests work?

Service requests can be initiated using the ‘My Service Request’ tab on the home screen on simply by tapping on the (magnifier) and searching for available Whizzes in your area. You could either select a Whizz for an immediate service request or schedule for later. Booking the Whizz will open your calendar and block the time so you know about an upcoming appointment. The same appointment goes to the Whizz at the same time.

Why is WhizzTips charging me a pre-authorization before I receive the service?

WhizzTips will ‘park’ the amount which you have budgeted for the service through the app to ensure we conduct the transaction as smoothly as possible for both the user and the Whizz. Once you are happy with the service, and close the case with a rating for the Whizz, then we will release the ‘parked’ funds to the Whizz. There is no need to pay the Whizz any funds either when they visit you or when you communicate online with them. In case there are disputes we will arbitrate fairly and for non delivery of the service you can be assured that you will get a 100% refund. We also want to avoid situations where a Whizz does not get paid after providing a service. Fairness for everyone.

How long before my queries or requests in the system are deleted?

We do not delete the queries. However, if your query has not been attended to within 24 hours, it will be marked as ‘Cancelled’, and you will see them under your ‘Completed’ queries section instead of the ones ‘In Progress’.

Is there an option to pay the Whizzes using iTunes credit?

We currently only support PayPal, PayPal supported credit cards, and PayFort. We’re working on integrating In-App purchases as well as other eWallets and alternate modes of payments as we progress.

Why am I being charged a cancellation fee?

Cancellation fees are applicable only if you have cancelled the service request close to the time of booking. The Whizzes would lose other bookings as they would have blocked off their calendars. In cases where the Whizz was travelling to your location, they would also incur travel costs. It’s only fair to compensate them a fraction of their potential earnings. At the same time, if the Whizz turned up late and you cancelled the job, you won’t be charged a cancellation fee.

Can I pay in other currencies outside of United States dollars?

While you can pay in your currency, it will be converted into USD at the current exchange rate according to the bank which has issued your credit card that’s used in your PayPal account. We will release other currency payments very soon.

How can I put a price to a job that I have no idea how easy or difficult it is?

Since we are putting the user (you) in control, you get to start the negotiation. Even if the rate you have put looks ridiculous, the Whizz will negotiate a fair price with you based on the work. The good thing is, you still decide whether you’re willing to pay that amount.

I have raised a dispute against a Whizz who didn’t complete the job. When can I expect my refund?

Once the dispute is closed, we refund the payments to the original mode of payment in the next payment cycle that usually falls on a Monday. If you’ve paid by card, check your card statement in a few days after Monday, and you should be able to see the refund.

If I like the work of a specific Whizz who has done a job for me, and I want to hire him directly for future jobs, should I just call him directly next time?

WhizzTips is a reputation based system, and we endeavor to make the platform reliable for users around the world when they want to hire services. We’re not ring-fencing any of our Whizzes nor are we restricting our users. However, since this is a reputation based model, your Whizz will not get any additional ratings if he/she’s hired out of the system, that ultimately works against him/her when other users are looking for Whizzes in that category. It also means that the ratings you will get as a user will also not get recorded thereby some of the Whizzes refusing to take up the jobs fearing a bad experience. Sure, we lose some money. But, we’re more worried about the overall experience for users when they cannot see Whizzes who have taken multiple jobs and are highly rated by users who have hired them.

So then, how do I contact him/her next time I want his/her service?

You can ‘favorite’ your whizz in the app and hire them by going into the ‘favorites’ tab. You could see all the Whizzes you have favorited in that section.

How do I know that the Whizz is going to be on time for the service request I’ve raised?

Both you and the Service Provider will have a calendar entry from WhizzTips reminding you of the job when you select ‘Schedule later’. If you’ve selected ‘Immediate’ and someone has accepted the job, then you should expect them to reach you any moment based on the location you’ve provided in the app.

Can I cancel the job after I have scheduled it?

You can cancel the jobs at a notice of 2 hours. Within 2 hours, the Whizz has already lost other opportunities they could’ve scheduled and this will be very inconvenient and costly to them. In cases where you need to re-schedule or cancel, please use the in-app messaging and agree with the Whizz of alternate arrangements.
